Quantum Design ATL160 and ATL80 Helium Liquefiers

Quantum Design's Advanced Technology Liquefiers (ATL) and innovative Helium Recovery, Storage & Purification Systems allow you to recover and liquefy the helium gas currently being lost from the normal boil off and helium transfers of your cryogenic instruments. A perfect solution for research or medical cryostats, Quantum Design’s helium liquefiers and recovery systems allow you to break your dependence on suppliers and no longer be subject to higher costs and diminished supply.

ATL liquefiers are mobile and easy to move around your laboratory which makes the transfer of liquid helium more convenient than ever. Liquefiers are doorway- and ramp-friendly, and the transfer process is as easy as transferring from your current storage dewars. ATL technology is also modular so that systems can be designed for any needs small or large, and then expanded as needs grow.

ATP30 Advanced Technology Purifier  by Quantum Design

Direct Recovery

ATL160 Direct Recovery Lab Layout

Quantum Design's Direct Recovery System is the most simple recovery system to use in order to gain the benefits of ATL80 or ATL160 liquefiers. Either liquefier model can be used with customer instrument to reclaim helium lost through normal boil off.

The Direct Recovery System consists of the following components:
  • X – Customer Instrument
  • A – Base ATL160 (or ATL80) Liquefier
  • B – Compressor for ATL160 (compressor integrated with ATL80)
  • C – Back Pressure Controller (optional as needed)
  • D – ATL160 Power Distribution Unit (not required with ATL80)

Recovery System with Medium Pressure Storage

ATL160 Recovery System with Medium Pressure Storage Lab Layout

Quantum Design's Recovery System with Medium Pressure Storage allows recovery, storage and purification of helium from normal and transfer boil off. This recovery system is perfect for customers with 1 or 2 cryogenic instruments who want to recovery almost all of the helium normally lost through normal operation and cryogenic transfers.

The Recovery System with Medium Pressure Storage consists of the following components:
  • A – Base ATL160 (or ATL80) Liquefier
  • B – Compressor for ATL160 (compressor integrated with ATL80)
  • C – AT Recovery Hub – MP
  • D – LN2 Helium Purifier (can be replaced by ATP30)
  • E – Medium Pressure Storage Tank (1000 liters)
  • F – Back Pressure Controller (optional as needed)
  • X – Customer Instrument

Recovery System with High Pressure Storage

Quantum Design's Recovery System with High Pressure Storage allows recovery, storage and purification of helium from normal and transfer boil off. This recovery system is perfect for customers with multiple cryogenic instruments or large, multi-room laboratories who want to recovery almost all of the helium normally lost through normal operation and cryogenic transfers.
